Based on my professional experiences I am looking for positions in software design and engineering, preferably in technical environments, and/or web sites design and development.

During my highest professional experience I reached, as an employee, the senior software engineer title and the project leader position. Currently I offer myself as senior developper and solution architect.

1995-2003

Self-employed - Free-lance consultant

I am currently working as free-lance consultant for professional web sites design and development and for design, engineering and development of software products. The main experiences are:

From June 2001 to January 2003 I worked with MADD SpA, as solution architect and delevopper, to project and develop technology for web sites like an auto-publishing and content management system both for back-end and front-end (architecture design and development).

I have worked for Compaq from January to June 2001, as employee, in the telecom team of Professional Services, for software development, in UNIX / Oracle environment, and consulting in major customers' projects.

From May 2000 to early January 2001 I have worked with ATS Spa in Milan (software house specialised in financial markets software development). I have been assigned to SIA (Societá Interbancaria per l'Automazione) for customer support, testing, and support to the development and production teams, for GLtrade's products (WIN/GL) for Italian financial markets access, developping a suite of test and demo programs (markets access using the GL API protocol) and internal analysis and support tools, acquiring a good knowledge of the GL client and of the internal architecture of the GL servers, of INTOA messaging and AMI programming.

From September 1999 to April 2000 I have worked with MADD Spa (a new media agency) in Milan, in startup phase, as networking manager and web publishing coordinator, with duties of intranet and extranet (in mixed LINUX / Window / Windows NT environment) and web servers planning and setup, definition and management of the web hosting procedures and development of web applications both server-side (CGI Perl, PHP) and complex client-side (JavaScript) scripting.

1991-1995

Software Engineering, Digital Equipment - Corporate Research & Development

I joined the team, developping corporate products in CIM area, as technical focal-point for the UNIX environment and development and then reached the project leader position, following the whole product's life-cycle.  I also implemented the distributed and cross-platform development environment (ULTRIX, OSF/1, NT, HP-UX, Windows on VAX, DEC-Alpha, MIPS, HP, PC) and several development and support tools.

1985-1991

Customer Support Center, Digital Equipment Spa - Italia

I started working in Digital's customer support structure at the telephone support center where I developped great experience in trouble-shooting and problem management as well as in customer care in critical situations, with duties of on-site and off-site pre/post sales support.  I was involved up to third line level support at national (for UNIX environments) and European (for 16 bits operating systems) level in Digital's customers support organization, reaching deep knowledge, at internals level, of operating systems and network products.

1984-1985

Analyst-Programmer, ENEL - Centro Ricerca di Automatica

The team (an R&D department of the Italian electricity company) was responsible for software and technology development for office automatization of the corporate. I was involved in applications and tools design and development for text-editing, data collection, data-entry, local data and distributed processing and IBM mainframe communication.

1983-1984

Free-lance consultant

I started working, just after diploma, as free-lance consultant with short yet important experiences in computer graphics and in maintenance and development of accounting and financial software.

1995-1999

New business startup

From 1995 to 1999 I have partecipated, along with the software consulting and associated with my wife, in the startup of a new business activity (a sort of permanent flea-market), its management and consolidation.

During this period I also developped, for personal interest, software for home automation and a web application for disaster planning and management (for the town of Cocquio Trevisago where I lived in, and was volunteer member of the local civil protection team).

High-school degree in Computer Science achieved in 1983 with final mark 55/60 (School: ITIS Feltrinelli, Milano).

Good knowledge of written and spoken English. Between 1991 and 1995 I was in touch with the partner engineering team in the USA daily.

Poor knowledge, at school level, of French.

Long experience on UNIX systems (BSD, POSIX e SystemV), on Digital (Tru64, OSF/1 e ULTRIX on DEC-Alpha, VAX, MIPS architecture), HP (HP-UX), IBM (AIX) and Open-Source environments (LINUX, FreeBSD, NetBSD).

Main programming experience in C language, with knowledge of several languages and macro-assemblers.

WEB/CGI programming in Perl, C, JavaScript, D/HTML 4, PHP and MySQL.

Good knowledge of Macromedia Dreamweaver and other HTML editors.

Usage and knowledge of most common Microsoft's and related operating systems and products (Windows 3.x, 9x, NT, Office, ...).

Programming of Motorola 68HC11 (hobbist level).

I am currently self-training on Java programming using the Jbuilder IDE.

Between 1985 and 1995 I took, at Digital's training centers, several professional courses and technical update seminaries.
